About VetExpenses

Last updated · VetExpenses Editorial Team

VetExpenses is an independent website for dog and cat owners. We answer the four questions owners ask when something seems wrong — is it safe, what's wrong, how urgent is it, and what will it cost — on one page, in that order.

Why we exist

Most pet health pages stop at the health answer. But at 2 a.m., with a dog who just ate something from the kitchen counter, the next question is almost always about money: will this be a $100 visit or a $3,000 one? We add that cost lens to every answer, so you can act quickly and plan honestly.

Who runs VetExpenses

VetExpenses is run by a small independent team. Content is researched and fact-checked against cited veterinary sources by the VetExpenses Editorial Team. We do not have a veterinarian on staff yet; every health page says so, and we will name our veterinary reviewer — with credentials — once one joins. Read more in our medical review policy.

How we're funded

The site is free and supported by display advertising. We don't sell products, take affiliate commissions, or rank insurance companies, and advertisers have no say in our content. See our advertising disclosure.
