Can My Dog or Cat Eat This?

Type a food to see instant verdicts for dogs and for cats: safe, safe in moderation, caution, or toxic — do not feed. Each verdict links to a full page with the reasons, the signs to watch for, what to do if your pet already ate it, and the sources.

Educational information, not veterinary advice. If your pet is unwell or ate something worrying, call your veterinarian or a pet poison line now. Emergency steps.

    How verdicts are decided

Every verdict comes from veterinary sources such as the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center and the Merck Veterinary Manual, cited on the food's page [1][2]. Dogs and cats get separate verdicts because the same food can affect them differently — onions and garlic, for example, are more dangerous for cats [2].

If a food isn't listed yet, don't feed it until you've checked with your vet.
