Ranges, not single prices
Vet prices vary with the clinic type, region, your pet's size and age, and the details of the case. We show three bands for each procedure — low-cost or nonprofit clinic, typical general practice, and specialty or emergency hospital — as whole-dollar US ranges with the year.
Where the numbers come from
Each band cites its source on the page: published clinic fee schedules, nonprofit and university clinic price lists, peer-reviewed studies and government data. A range is published only when it is backed by named sources; anything unverified keeps the guide unpublished.
Estimator adjustments
Our cost estimator can adjust a range for size, clinic type, region and age only when each adjustment factor is itself sourced. Until then it shows the national range and explains what drives the price.
Update frequency
Cost guides are reviewed at least every 6 months, and headline years always come from each guide's last update date.
